travelers and visitors

.The Visitors Center provides maps, books and periodicals available to visitors about surrounding sites to explore, State Parks, Federal Parks and scenic destinations and drives in Siskiyou County. We also provide US Forestry information and Road Conditions regarding Interstate 5 and Hwy 97.

The Weed Visitors Center is located at 34 Main Street, Weed, CA. It is a log cabin originally designed and constructed by the students under the direction of college instructors at the College of the Siskiyous in the 1980’s. It was relocated two times in Weed to its present location on Main Street. The Visitor’s Center is situated just off Highway 97 in the middle of the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway.

 

The Weed Visitors Center is a welcome center for travelers and visitors to the City of Weed and the beginning of the Great Alaskan Highway (Hwy 97). It is also an Arch City, one of the few remaining in California and the United States. The Visitors Center offers visitors, travelers and locals with information regarding the town of Weed and its rich ethnic history of a lumber mill town established in the late 1890’s and its surrounding areas.
