Event Descriptions

Chinese Auction

The Chinese Auction event is for adults 21 years of age and older. It is customary to dress in the era being represented. Last year it was the roaring 20’s! It is a fast-paced event, and last year our tickets were sold out ahead of time, as there is a limited amount of seating. The event usually takes place at the “Sons-of -Italy” hall.

What is a Chinese Auction? - This is a combination of a silent auction with a raffle. Bidders buy tickets and use them to bid on items. The more you want the item, the more tickets you buy and put into the buckets to increase your chance to be drawn as the lucky winner. Our first prize was a stay in Hawaii and there are too many prizes to mention… There is usually a dinner offered prior to the beginning of the auction and a cash bar available during the event. It is a very fun evening event for adults!

Spring Fling

Spring Fling is a music Festival to bring people together after a long winter of being indoors. Immerse yourself in a variety of musical entertainment that will leave with unforgettable memories in the Mystic shadow of Mt Shasta. Experience the vibrant atmosphere and dance to the live music performances. Spring Fling is the perfect opportunity to kick off the spring season to experience great food and a great weekend getaway.

Juneteenth

Description coming soon.

Steampunk

This is a two-day event with the Steampunk gentry. What is Steampunk? It blends the look and technology of the 19th century with elements of science fiction. It’s an alternate reality where technological progress is based on steam rather than electricity, gas and oil. This universe is generally modern, but it uses steam as its energy source.

This is a fun event for the whole family, we have a costume contest, gadget contests, a Rat rod contest and unique vehicles. We have vendors for clothing, crafts and food. We have music on both days and a beer booth.

Carnevale

In our 68th year, this is our oldest running Event in Weed. It usually begins with the opening parade on Wednesday and opens the series of events, beginning with the carnival for 4 days, bocce ball for 3 days and horseshoes for 2 days. Last year was the largest event we have had in years! There were 12 amusement rides for all ages along with a midway with games for the young and old alike. There is music, craft vendors and a food court during the event. This event takes place at Bel Air Park located at 450 College Avenue in Weed.

Roll’n-in-Weed Car Show

A long standing car show event in Weed and one of Siskiyou County’s favorites and it keeps growing. It has become a very popular event since we put it in Bel Air Park in Weed. The park setting is inviting and a cool place to be. The Community Pool is available to everyone on Saturday, and there is usually live music or a DJ playing 50’s through 80’s music to keep the rhythm going. There are vendors for food and the COS College Craft Fair share a part of the venue. There is always something for the car buffs and their families to participate in!

Halloween Trunk or Treat

Has turned in to a very popular event in Weed and Siskiyou County. It is open to all. You can participate in costume or come as you are. It’s a safe way to do Halloween with the family. Last year, we had over 2,000 kids and their parents attend. This year the event was co-sponsored with the Chamber and Roseburg Forest Products. It was a ton of fun as there were 56 autos and trunks and their owners dressed up for Halloween. There was also spooky Halloween Music, Food Vendors and Hot Chocolate available. The Trunk or Treat Event is located on Main Street, Weed.

Olde Fashioned Christmas

This Christmas event is a tradition in Weed. People go to Heritage Plaza and gather around the Christmas tree, sing Christmas carols and have the tree lighting ceremony. It’s an event for the whole family! Later that evening you travel to the Weed Community center to await Santa’s and Ms. Claus arrival. You’ll be able to meet with Santa and tell him what you would like for Christmas.
