The Weed Chamber of Commerce refurbished the Community Events Board in 2009. The Events Board Dedication took place May 1, 2010 at the Weed Visitor Center. President Brenda Woods spoke encouraging words of growth for Downtown Weed, and introduced the Mayor of Weed, Dave Pearce, and City Council Man Bob Hall, who also spoke to the development of our downtown and the new works of art that are brightening the streets!
The previous events board held a beautifully hand painted image of Abner Weed that had faded over the years. The painted mural was donated to the Weed Historic Lumber Museum in downtown Weed and was repainted by local muralist Daryl Brooks. The New Wildflower Mosaic Community Events Board was designed and installed by Monica Zinda of Moonshine Mosaics. The Weed Chamber of Commerce worked hard through numerous fundraisers to reach their goal for this community sign!
