Bird Migration right outside of Weed, CA!

There are a wide range of wild birds that migrate through the Siskiyou County region.  Here in Weed we are lucky to access the wildlife refuges along Hwy 97 that include the Klamath Basin, and Tule Lake areas.  Here is a list of some of the birds you can expect to see on your birding adventure!

 

  • White-faced ibis
  • Snow, Ross’, white-fronted, & Canada geese.
  • Peregrine falcon
  • Pintail, mallard, gadwall, canvasback
  • Western & eared grebes
  • Black tern
  • Tri-colored blackbird
  • American Bald Eagle
  • Golden Eagle
  • American White Pelican
